There are three steps to this recipe:

  1. Bake the oats

  2. Making the nut shake for the oats

  3. Combining oats and nut shake to soak overnight in the fridge

Step 1: Baking the Oats*

  • Bake one pack of rolled oats in an oven-safe container on the lowest setting for your oven for 3 hours**.

  • Remove oats from the oven and set aside to cool completely.

  • Place the baked oats back in its original packaging (if you baked the whole pack), or in a tightly sealed container.

* Purchase Eden Pursuits' Baked Rolled Oats to skip this step.

**”Grains used for porridge or “mush” should have several hours' cooking.” (Ministry of Healing pg 310)

Step 2: Making the Nut Shake

Ingredients:

1 cup almond milk or coconut milk

¼ cup of walnut

1 TBSP each of flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, and hemp seeds

1 - 2 TBSP maple syrup

3 pinches of pink Himalayan salt

Directions:

  • Place all the above ingredients in a blender and blend until creamy

Step 3: Combining Oats and Nut shake

The night before you plan to have it for breakfast:

  • Place ½ cup baked oats in a bowl.

  • Pour ½ cup nut shake over the oats and stir to combine

  • Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge overnight.

  • Reserve leftover nut shake in the fridge for the next day.

The next morning:

  • Remove the bowl from the fridge and allow it to come to room temperature

  • Add ¼ cup of your favourite dried fruit.

  • Serve with leftover nut shake (from the day before), 2 servings of fresh fruits.

  • Complete the meal with a closed handful of nuts.
